Empowerment Through Participation

Conducted campaign caravans across Seme villages to raise awareness about preventing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and to educate communities on land management and succession rights.

Implements grassroots and regional programs focused on conflict and violence prevention and response, human rights advancement, youth governance inclusion and empowerment, prevention and countering violent extremism, and safe migration for women and vulnerable populations.

Implements a project to increase the capacity of state and non-state actors to implement and monitor County Action Plans for preventing and countering violent extremism in Western Kenya.

Implements the St. Jerome Emiliano Ramula Integrated Child and Family Support Project in Seme and Nyalenda sub-counties, providing nutritional school feeding, educational scholarships, and targeted support for girls and young mothers.

Provided free medical screenings (including cancer, eye, and HIV testing), family planning, treatment for common ailments, legal aid, and a simulated court demonstration to educate communities on legal procedures for SGBV cases.

Organized and participated in public commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence on December 8, 2023, in Kombewa, Seme Sub-County, Kisumu, to promote awareness and community engagement.

Implements youth empowerment and inclusion programs across 15 counties in the Lake Region Economic Block, including peace summits, youth advocacy to government, media engagement, and financial literacy training.

Supports children's rights through awareness campaigns, policy reviews, and direct services such as providing free education and meals in early childhood development programs, and supporting rescue homes for vulnerable children.

Offers capacity-building programs in its Resource Centers to local people to achieve self-sufficiency and sustainability, mitigating hunger, environmental degradation, diseases, and mismanagement of public resources.

Works with marginalized communities in Kenya to implement various development programs aimed at reducing poverty, including initiatives in environmental conservation, universal education, HIV/AIDS awareness, and socio-economic empowerment for women and youth.

Provides emergency relief and livelihood support to communities affected by disasters such as drought, locust invasions, and economic impacts like the COVID-19 pandemic, distributing food and non-food essentials.

Connects international volunteers, including those from the Weltwärts program, with community development projects in Kenya, providing support services such as airport transfers, orientation, accommodation, and assistance with travel documentation.

Addresses food security through agro-economic development, environmental stewardship, and initiatives like promoting cassava as a value chain crop, providing training on farming practices, and distributing food and seeds to affected communities.

Constructs and furnishes new modern class blocks and offices at primary schools to improve access to education for children.

Implements microfinance initiatives, including village banks and supporting community banks ("Bengi Investment Group"), to alleviate family poverty and reduce dependence, particularly for street children and vulnerable community members.

Establishes and operates community resource centers in locations like Ahero, Awach, Awasi, Kuth, and Nyakach to serve as hubs for socio-economic development programs, offering microfinance, capacity building, and support for vulnerable populations.

Initiates and facilitates programs designed to engage physically challenged individuals in community development, focusing on socio-economic empowerment through mentorships and capacity building.

Supports teacher training in new technologies to align with Kenya’s competency-based curriculum.
