INTER - REGIONAL PEACE NETWORK

Conducts mediation, arbitration, and negotiation using traditional and conventional mechanisms to resolve pastoral and urban conflicts; facilitates agreements, compensations, and the return of stolen livestock in communities across Isiolo, Garissa, and Lagdera counties.

Strengthens police-community relations through initiatives such as the Merti Police Open Day, the "Usalama Ni Uaminifu" project, and the KeMU cluster of the Community Policing Initiative, implemented in Garissa, Isiolo, and Mandera counties.

Operates a continuous conflict early warning and early response system by monitoring, collecting, and disseminating data on potential conflicts; strengthens feedback loops between communities and security actors in Isiolo, Garissa, and Mandera counties.

Leads peacebuilding initiatives in eastern and north-eastern Kenya, connecting pastoralist communities affected by climate- and environment-related conflicts through sustained engagement and cross-community collaboration.

Develops and supports implementation of county-level action plans such as the Isiolo County Action Plan to Prevent and Counter Violent Extremism (ICAP PCVE); advances Kenya’s National Action Plan II (KNAP II) aligned with UN Security Council Resolution 1325.

Engages religious leaders to disseminate counter-narratives and authentic religious teachings through forums and local radio stations to counter violent extremism.

Implements youth-focused initiatives to counter violent extremism through empowerment, education, and community involvement.

Organizes annual public events including the Peace Ultra Marathon (PUMI) and the Camel Caravan advocacy walk to promote peace, environmental conservation, and tree planting as tools for climate change mitigation.
