SAVE THE PASTORALISTS KENYA (STP)

STP delivers training for nonprofits on institutional strengthening, conducts human rights education programs, supports community-based initiatives, empowers local communities to manage water resources, trains healthcare workers, and strengthens agricultural extension services.

STP empowers marginalized communities, including women, children, and people with disabilities, by providing resources and support.

STP builds and upgrades primary healthcare centers, enhances road infrastructure for access to facilities, deploys mobile clinics, and implements vaccination programs. They also provide family planning services and maternal and child health services.

STP establishes reliable supply chains for essential medicines and medical supplies and implements effective drug management systems to prevent wastage.

STP provides legal assistance, including free legal advice and representation, to individuals and communities facing human rights abuses, and connects them with free legal services for litigation.

STP invests in road infrastructure and storage facilities to support agriculture, promotes diversification of livestock and drought-resistant crops, provides veterinary services, and implements rotational grazing systems. They also establish community gardens and promote food preservation.

STP constructs water infrastructure, improves sanitation facilities, monitors water quality, and educates communities on hygiene practices. They also promote sustainable agriculture practices like water-efficient farming.

STP monitors and documents human rights violations against pastoralist communities, lobbies government officials at local and national levels in Kenya and Uganda, and advocates for policy reforms and legislation to protect pastoralist and human rights.

STP promotes the rights of pastoralist communities by raising awareness of constitutional rights, supporting community-led governance structures, and facilitating the formation of community committees for seasonal grazing plans and communal resource management.

STP organizes community-driven tree planting campaigns, establishes local community tree nurseries, integrates trees into agricultural systems through agroforestry, and implements rotational grazing and soil conservation techniques to combat desertification.

STP facilitates peaceful conflict resolution mechanisms to address inter-communal violence and cattle rustling, and provides humanitarian aid to vulnerable populations affected by conflict, drought, or other disasters.
