KENYA FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH AND WOMEN PROGRAMME

Provides services to vulnerable populations including women, youth, persons with disabilities, displaced persons, smallholder farmers, and LGBTIQ+ individuals, linking marginalized groups with relevant support from appropriate organizations and institutions.

Supports initiatives to promote the involvement of women and other marginalized populations in governance and political leadership.

Supports initiatives aimed at the social and economic empowerment of women.

Advocates for and supports Basic Quality Education reforms in line with the new constitution to ensure accessibility, retention, equity, and infrastructural development.

Advocates for and supports Early Childhood Development (ECD) Program initiatives that promote access, equity, quality, and successful transitions to primary schools and other educational levels.

Supports and participates in county and national child rights networks, and advocates for and strengthens social structures for the protection of vulnerable children and girls.

Sensitizes communities on child rights and child protection legislations, supports community structures for child protection, and enhances advocacy for child protection.

Develops the capacity of Child Rights Actors to monitor the implementation of the new constitution on child rights.

Enhances the capacity of law enforcers on new legislations and the constitution for the protection of women and girls.

Implements programs focused on strengthening community engagement and sustainable development in 15 priority counties across Central, Eastern, Rift Valley, and Coast regions of Kenya, including Nairobi, Kiambu, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Nyeri, Laikipia, Nakuru, Kajiado, Meru, and Isiolo Counties.

Supports quality basic education initiatives, including early learning, and provides scholarship support to enable vulnerable children to access basic education. Also provides sanitary towels and supports trainings for girls to make their own for sustainability.

Conducts community trainings on peace and conflict resolution, trains youth and "TOTS" in peace building, leadership, and reconciliation, involves women in peace building and conflict management, and facilitates community peace and reconciliation dialogues.

Promotes the sexual health of young people and girls by intensifying reproductive health rights awareness, sexuality education, and addressing child and early marriage.

Provides referrals for advanced healthcare and legal redress, and offers psychosocial support services, including counseling, to women who are victims of Gender-Based Violence.

Sensitizes women on their inheritance and property rights, creates awareness on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) including sexual violence and female genital mutilation, strengthens community structures for girls' and women's protection, and links girls with safe houses to protect them from FGM.

Creates awareness and advocates for reproductive health rights.

Addresses gender issues, specifically focusing on gender in education.

Manages and distributes small-scale grants to community groups and civil society organizations.

Facilitates capacity and economic development of youth groups in areas such as leadership, governance, devolution, social accountability, entrepreneurship, business planning, agriculture, agribusiness, livelihoods, peace building, conflict prevention, advocacy, policy influencing, reproductive health rights, HIV/AIDS, and resource mobilization.
