Enables Africa to speak with one voice in international climate negotiations, particularly on agricultural adaptation, by supporting the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) under a mandate from the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN).

Supports over thirty African countries in integrating climate considerations into agricultural planning and resource mobilization, helping governments transition toward low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways.

Established the Africa Climate Change Adaptation Expert Group (ACXG) in 2023 to bring together African climate scientists and experts for knowledge exchange and technical collaboration on adaptation.

Operates the Adaptation Finance Academy (AFA), which builds institutional and individual capacity across Africa to develop bankable climate adaptation projects and mobilize climate finance through training, virtual learning platforms, peer-to-peer forums, and fellowship programs.

Provides sustainable financing for gender-sensitive, low-emission, and climate-resilient development in rural Africa through the ECOVERSE Program, supporting the creation of hundreds of climate-resilient villages.

Hosts major forums such as the 2026 Adaptation Finance Academy Forum in Zogbépimé, Togo, to showcase African-led sustainable development, present program progress, and facilitate dialogue on mobilizing climate finance.

Implements the Pan-African AAI Adaptation Project Incubator for Africa (APIA), a comprehensive program aiming to support 40 countries and 25 organizations in accessing climate finance, developing 24 climate projects, and mobilizing $430 million for low-emission, climate-resilient development.

Publishes the “State of Adaptation in Africa” report series and commissions background papers to generate Africa-owned knowledge on climate adaptation, informing policy and practice across the continent.
