Conducts research on food systems and nutrition, including analysis of national nutrient profile models in East African Community countries to assess risks of regulatory misalignment and support regional harmonization.

Published 998 research papers, over 200 technical reports, and more than 150 policy briefs between 2017 and 2024. Serves as a knowledge hub to advance evidence-based decision-making in Africa.

Expands organizational collaborations with African and non-African institutions to enhance research impact and capacity development.

Provides capacity-strengthening programs at the master's and doctoral levels, graduating over 290 individuals. Established dedicated training hubs such as the Virtual Academy and the Youth Research Academy to support long-term research capability development in Africa.
